Simple to do. Lots of folks have done this and I was going to do the same until I sold my old trailer. Only issue is if you're taking regulated or unregulated gas off your tanks. If regulated, remove the regulator on your bbq; if unregulated, leave the regulator on the bbq.
I suspect the point you will tap into will be regulated.
