I'm not an expert on the subject but, will the drywall give you enough thermal mass to offset the 300 pounds you will be carrying?
If you're not concerned about the weight, maybe 5/8" drywall would be a better choice.
Radiant barrier insulation needs a 3/4 to 1 inch (furring strips) air space between the insulation and drywall/paneling.
So, if you decide to go with the radiant you will be giving up an inch on each side.
Maybe a better choice would be thicker foam insulation?
