By the time I have $5500 in this trailer and $10000 in the vehicle I am buying to tow it, I am not really "saving" any money. It's a lifestyle choice. You've got fabulous freedom to go a number of places on a moment's notice. No hotel to rent, no reservation to make. Sure, if I'm somewhere that I'll be for more than a few days, I would want to find a park and hook to electric. But for 2 days? It's simple to park in places that are free and that management allows it. Walmart, truck stops, state campgrounds. It's just a lifestyle choice I make. I prefer stealth because I don't want people knowing that I'm sleeping inside for my own security. After I finish my days, I can then go to where ever I want to see in that area and check it out. The size is fine for me. There is a whole ton of people using teardrop campers in the same way, without any shower facility and in a whole lot less space.
And finally, the hospital doesn't actually pay us for a hotel. We are given a "housing allowance" by the agency we work for. How you use that (hotel, apartment, trailer, etc) is your business, just like with the meal allowance you can choose to eat off the dollar menu if that's what you want to do.
