Cradle for hitch

About a year ago I bought a HitchGrip to handle a very heavy WDH. There is a lot less strain on my back with this grip.

If we are camping for a week and driving to various places I usually take the hitch off and store it in the truck. I built a cradle for this purpose and use a light chain and lock to secure it.

  • I like that 'grip'
Those stingers are heavy and that grip looks like it balances the weight out.
    Nice stand.
I had a 'rack' for mine on tongue that locked.......but it was just ball shank

Do you have tonneau cover on truck?

IF not have you considered putting stinger/stand in trailer vs out in open of truck bed....out of sight/out of mind?

That HitchGrip is one of the best inventions that I ever saw. It is balanced and allows you to lift with your knees and save your back.

As you can see from my signature I have a camper shell that locks as well as the tail gate locks. There is an alarm system also including the camper shell. Sometimes I throw an old jacket over the hitch in the truck.
  • Yes, I like that Hitch Grip too. In this photo I put some shop-rags (paper towel) over the ball so the hitch grip would not get greasy. When camping though, I just leave the hitch on the truck. But when moving it around at home, the "grip" is great. This is not my current hitch, its an old one I have sitting around at home.

    Great tip, I'll use it.
