After seeing all the posts on how good the Oxygenics shower head is and someone asked to run a side by side bucket test.I thought I might.(yes I'm that bored)As a disclamer, I have a Oxygenics shower head and am very pleased with it. It is powerful and does a much better job,as far as I'm concerned,and it takes less time to shower and rinse. I REALLY LIKE IT.As where the original one puts out a weak spray and takes forever to shower and rinse.Now for the test.This was done with my on board water and stock water pump,your results may vary.Using my original shower head.Like this.I used a 3 Gallon bucket for the test. With both Hot and Cold on full.The old one took 2 Minutes 10 seconds to fill the 3 Gallon bucket.The Oxygenics took 2 Minutes 30 seconds to fill the 3 Gallon bucket.I will let the math wizards figure that out.I know that the time is not much different BUT the strength of the flow on the Oxygenics is so much better I seem to take a Shorter, Quicker and more Refreshing shower.Ok now we can let the debate begin.:B

Your test results confirm how I've felt about the shower in our RV and at home.A better test, but more difficult to perform, is to measure the water used when one took a shower with each shower head. If the Oxygenics does what we think it does the water usage would be less probably by more than the 13% difference in your test.

I did a different test when I installed my Oxygenics, with my shur flow smart sensor 5.7 pump, I turned both cold and hot faucets on full force and had a bucket with marks on the inside. Stated the stop watch as I put the showerhead into the bucket and when the watch reached one minute took the shower head out of the bucket and measured the water, it was exactly 1 1/2 gallons, so that means you will only use 1 1/2 gallons per minute when you take a shower. A five minute shower at full force will only use 7and 1/2 gallons of mixed water. But I do not use both faucets on full force, I turn on the hot full force then turn on the cold just until it is confortable and step in. I have never run out of hot water using this method with the oxygenics with a 6 gallon water heater

The only scientific test I've done with my Oxygenics shower head & 6 gallon water heater is take a shower. I don't take a Navy shower, just let the water run. With the Oxygenics I don't run out of hot water, with the old shower head I would run out of hot water. Good enough for me.

For me, the test is simple. First, I do take navy showers. The thing that makes me like the Oxygenic is not a lot of holes that put out a large total volume. I appreciate that if I am at home with a lot of water pressure. I like the reduced amount of holes that increases the pressure but reduces the "total" volume. I like to get hair and body rinsed without waving the wand around or dancing in the tub.The test is not total volume but how it is focused.

Our test was simple. Installed the Oxygenics. Lasted 2 days. Wife said put the OEM shower back on. Oxygenics was real loud. The spray is not gentle at all.Gave it to a friend - have no idea what he did with it.Happy trails,

Jim-Linda--I just got one from ebay. It has the push button instead of the knob. It is easier for my small hands to work. $8.99 free shipping.

I bought an oxygenics head last summer and put it in my home shower to test it out there first. Unfortunately, I like it too much and it never made into the camper. Will be buying another one for the camper this spring.

ON edit by the way the picture is upside down I turned the faucet upside down so the hose came out the bottom, so the hose wont kink.

Where did you purchase that valve? I have looked for one like that at Home Depot, and Lowes with no luck.
I've seen em' at both places. Mine came from HD

X2! They are about $3.99 or so. The one I have is chrome and only about 5/8" long but works very well! In the aisle with the shower heads and hoses.

You can get a shutoff valve made for shower hoses at Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, etc. Fairly cheap. I bought one but didn't like the extra heft because I thought it would keep the shower head from staying in place during travel. Obviously, I could just lay it down in the tub.

The general experience is that with a complete shut off, when you turn it back on the temperature will be way off for a while. So most designs allow a trickle. I think the one I bought was a complete shut off but I can't say if the temperature change was a problem.
