A standard digital t'stat will work just fine. All the furnace needs is a dry-contact closure to turn it on, which any standard t'stat will do, along with a heat anticipator circuit. Of course, these units have an internal battery.
Lots of older posts on using a Hunter thermostat for the conversion and wiring. A search will bring up many posts. Only issue I've seen is a separate toggle switch is required to keep the 2 speed fan function. The t-stat the OP used is easier and faster because it's a direct swap. The Hunter is not.
