I am trying to help my father out by installing a digital thermostat into his Safari motorhome. I have successfully installed the Hunter in my own RV but can not get his wiring figured out. The first issue is that I was unable to find the Hunter thermostat available anywhere so I purchased the Supco 43054. It appears to be the same as the Hunter except for one additional wire hook up labeled "R" (separate from "Rh/B and Rc/O"). He has a brand new Suburban furnace and the factory dometic A/C unit. I'll see if I can get some pictures posted to see if someone can help me figure out which wires go where. Thanks in advance for any help someone can provide.

Thanks for the reply. Some of the problem I'm having is the difference in wire colors. As I showed earlier the larger wires (red and blue) go to the furnace. I did figure out that his green wire is for the Hi fan. He doesn't have a grey wire on his old thermostat. He has a black one but I'm not sure if that is the same. Also I'm not sure if I need to use the new thermostat connection labeled "R". My Hunter did not have that.

Everyone here is amazing. The help is appreciated. I will let you know how it works out. My dad's motorhome is a few miles away so I can't have immediate results.

Thick RED..........RH/RC (with jumper)
Thick BLUE.........W
YELLOW.............Y

Thin RED.......not used...wire nut/tape off

BLACK (Low A/C Fan Speed)
GREEN (High A/C Fan Speed)

Connect both to 'G' for High Fan only
Connect BLACK to 'G' for Low Fan only

Or install a mini toggle switch so you can switch between Hi/Lo
Center terminal to 'G'
BLACK to a terminal
Green to other terminal

Remove the jumper between Rc and Rh.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems the connections to the old thermostat (as labeled on the thermostat) are the "5 wire" labels, ignoring the wire for the high speed fan, so presumably it should work if you just connect the wires to the identically labelled terminals for the new thermostat according to it's five wire diagram?

That would mean thick red to Rh, thick blue to W, yellow to Y, black to G, thin red to Rc, and green to an external fan speed switch or permanently connected/disconnected to give the desired fan speed.
