DIgital Thermostat Install.

I hated having to fiddle with the temperature slide on the original thermostat, especially since it is located behind and in the corner of the dinette, so tossed it in the trash and installed this digital unit. Offers the same selections as the original did, so both fan speeds still work.

10 minute install time. The wires on old unit were the same color as this one and the mounting holes also aligned, so no extra hole poking.

  • I installed exactly the same in my TT. A lot more precise
  • Stayed in the TT last night since the install and I LOVE it. No more large temp swings.
  • Yes I imagine Dometic is going to phase out the old hateful thermostat.
They are about 20 years behind the curve on this.

For off the shelf it will need to be battery powered.
I am inclined to stay with oem conversion.

The new digital one you installed here is what came in my Voltage from the factory.
  • Will a standard digital thermostat work, or do you need one specific for a camper? I will do this tomorrow if you can. I am tired of a 1/32" move on the slide being a 5 deg temp change
  • One of the first things I did when we got 5'vr back in '06....change out the junk analog for a digital t-stat.

Course I got the idea/instructions right here from Les Adams........Thanks again!

    Nice addition to any unit.
It is totally amazing to me that these manufactures continue to put these junk thermostats in high end units. You would think they could put in a $20.00 thermostat for the price they get.

The Coleman stat shown runs about $66 dollars plus shipping, but your point is still valid.
