Glad to hear you did a modification that works for you. And that's really all that matters, is that it works for YOU!
I've witnessed at dump stations folks using gloves, and then simply toss them into their basements, or a bucket, or wherever. Makes me wonder why they use gloves in the first place. If they are so concerned about getting their hands dirty, then it doesn't make any sense that everything that touches the gloves gets contaminated too. Your solution sounds like a winner!
One other thing that I sit back and laugh at with folks at dump stations that use gloves, is how many times while they have the gloves on, they touch their face! Adjusting eye glasses, wiping their brow, or simply a quick scratch. I don't think folks are even aware when doing that.
I worked at McDonalds 45 years ago when in College. My manager told me, if I ever touched my hair, or my face, to immediately go and wash my hands, if I was working prep, on the grill, or mopping a floor. He made everyone keenly conscious about cross contamination. I never forgot that and somehow it affected my behavior. I'm keenly aware whenever I touch my face or hair after 45 years.
