I need to run some 12vdc fans for one night in our camper while we sleep in warmer weather with no electric. My first thought was to take a light fixture down and wire it in to the wires on the light BUT then I got to thinking (uh oh as my wife would say) Do they make such a thing as a bulb base that has wire pigtails coming out of it so you could wire a 12vdc device to the pigtails and plug it in to the light fixture by just removing the bulbs to the light and turning the switch on?? Any one have any thoughts on this?? Thanks!

Hi,It would be better to install a cigarette lighter type of outlet.

Yeah, they make a 12v light with a plug in it for a 12v fan. Just do a quick see arch for it. I believe I've seen them in a lot of pop ups.

Fantastic Fan makes a portable version of its overhead fan. Not sure of the name but does have "Breeze" in the model name. Anyway, this is the perfect 12v plug-in fan for some extra air.

I already have the fans and I don't need the cigarette lighter plug any other time that is why I was just looking for something more temporary for a 1 or 2 night deal.

We use 2 of these O2COOL fans in our TT and they work great. inexpensive and run on 8 D-cell batteries.

Do this all the time. Take as little from the main bat bank as possible. Fridge or furnace will do that fine.

OR. If it does have the outlet near the TV booster. Get a 100 W inverter. Plug it in, and plug a small 110 fan into it. Mine will run a small fan.

Does your TV antenna booster come with a 12VDC plug? Plug it in there. If you need an extension, they are available at larger truck stops like Loves, Pilot, etc.

Our rig has a couple of the 12 volt plugs in it and we are always using them for something. I don't think they would be as temporary as you think they would be.

I carry a portable power unit and have used that many times to run fans, charge cell phones, even to run my laptop in a pinch. I at least 2 nights power to run fan out of the Sears Diehard unit I purchased (and I will also jumpstart my car in a pinch)
