When you camped for the 3 nights, how often did you charge and how low did the battery go?
For one dry camping trip per year, I wouldn't put money into upgrading. Bring your old battery as a back up and watch your usage. You can supplement with flashlights/lanterns and small power packs for charging cell phones, etc.
