- 2012ColemanExplorer IIThis past summer, we went camping in a quaint little town with multiple Gift shops. One was having a Christmas in July sale. We stocked up, got back to the camp site, and for some reason, just couldn't wait to try some of our purchases out - note, I said some..
I did the marker light thing, but you really can't tell in this picture. - All_I_could_affExplorerI don't recall what resistance I used, as it was several years ago and it is shrink wrapped rather permanently. It was done mainly so The kids could recognize their trailer, and we've done a lot of camping in the late fall when it gets dark early. Never on past bedtime.
Maybe try something with a adjustable dimmer switch instead of a resistor. That way you can very very light output in response to the level of "resistance" do you get from your neighbor - _1FlyboyExplorer.... Here’s another idea; NO LIGHTS-OUTSIDE... You & your neighbors can enjoy the night sky, International Space Station, shooting stars, satellites, scary stories, s’mores, etc...And, you won’t be annoying your neighbors to boot...

After paving most private campgrounds so I can't walk on dirt or grass, now it is suggested that I leave my clearance lights on while camped? You are kidding...right?
Nobody says that you must, but you could if the mood so struck. - Old-BiscuitExplorer III

I like it. What watts/ohms of resistor?
These days, I carry a small jumper wire which includes a resistor, so I am able to light up the parking lights in a very dim glow. Enough to make my trailer recognizable amongst the crowded campground, but not Bright enough to be annoying.
You actually can't recognize your trailer?
Sometimes it CAN be confusing :B
And sometimes you just need a little help----ever 'lost' your car at the Mall :B
I know one thing......my shades/blinds are closed at night so 'peeping' doesn't happen and it's dark in my bedroom regardless of what someone is doing with their trailer lights.

We often camped in groups with four or five other families clustered together, and soon everyone in the group was running their parking lights too.
One night I discreetly snuck over to my friends trailer and swapped in a flasher in place of the jumper wire, and we got a few laughs watching him walk around the trailer and checking his fuse box trying to figure out what was wrong.

It has those LED light strips in a Vee pattern on the front cap. He thought it was cool to leave them on while he sat inside watching tv. It lite up my whole camp site where the fire pit was.
On another trip we were camped in a CG and a guy with a new Momentum TH had his Vee LED lights on also while he sat inside.
Are we supposed to be impressed that they have LED lights on the front of their RV's.
