This is how you have your trailer's clearance lights turn on when you are parked and disconnected from the tow vehicle. I also posted this elsewhere.

Great idea!! I never even though of it. Can you give an example of the flasher you use (perhaps just an Amazon link).

Old-Bisquit's post above with the picture. Any automotive store, even WallMart use to carry these in the automotive section. Cost a couple bucks or so. Not worth ordering over the internet. You'll pay 5 times more than the cost of the flasher for postage.

Enjoy the new find! It is fun! And folks will stop by your camper and ask, "how did you do that!" Smile and say, "It's a scecret!"

Got one better. I wired my friends truck so that every time he hit the brakes the horn would blow. I almost issed myself following around town.

Sound, backing up ok. Emergency ok. But just because it’s dark? The beauty of the night is in the darkness which OP will take from me and all others parked around him. Can I take his sunshine?

Been using an 'automotive' flasher for at least 11 years......flasher blades are angled and fit directly into 11 O'clock and 1 O'clock positions on trailer plug.

Flashes the Front Clearance, Side markers and Rear Clearance lights ON/OFF, ON/OFF, ON/OFF, ON/OFF, ON/OFF

WHY.....

As mentioned:
For 'Lights' vs stringing dang awning lights and then having to take down and stow. Plug in flasher-----done.

For 'Emergency Response'.
We're in site so and so, or at such and such a place etc doesn't always work
LOOK FOR THE FLASHING LIGHTS---they can find you

And sure does make it easier for me to find after 'imbibing'

I took it a step further and built my own Trailer Lights Dongle (3 pics) and use it every time I back in from the street on to our driveway to warn other dumb*** drivers what I'm up to. MUCH better flashing ALL the trailer lights, not just the 4-ways, in this situation. :B

As to the naysayers - don't care what you think, I'm doin' it anyway ... 'cause I can. :W

Remember to give the fuse or flasher pins a little twist with pliers before inserting and possibly distorting your plug connectors. You don't want to end up with connection issues for the lights when you tow ;)

We used the flasher when we had an emergency and had first responders on the way. They thanked us for making it easy to spot the trailer they needed to go to.

After paving most private campgrounds so I can't walk on dirt or grass, now it is suggested that I leave my clearance lights on while camped? You are kidding...right?
