Electrical Hook Up

Where is the best (safest) place to connect to 20amp circuit in motor home for Sani Con? Can I go directly to positive on house battery?
Water pump wires easily accesible, but I am thinking only hot when pump switch turned on and not sure pump is 20 amp circuit. Any advise appreciated.
Thanks in advance

  • I would connect directly to the post that has the cable leading to the disconnect switch mounted in the battery compartment. Ground can be just about anywhere as long as you have good continuity between that point and the battery ground post.

  • Thanks for the information. I guess my real question is if I can connect to any of the four house batteries or do I have to connect to a certain one.
But thanks for the response and the link
  • And if it runs backwards it will strip off all of the impeller's fins.....making the unit useless (don't ask me how I know).

go here to read about installing the sani-con... This may not be your exact sani-con model but the install information will be the same... I was going to download your exact sani-con but my computer alarmed saying it might contain a virus so I didnt download it.

Connecting directly to the battery terminals is fine but you must use a inline 20AMP fuse at the battery that looks similar to this. This fuse is to protect the wires when shorted out from getting smoking hot and not burn your trailer down... AS the manual states be sure your connect the correct polarity. Otherwise your sani-con pump will run backwards...
