Can you post a photo showing how you mounted the ignitors at the burners?

Basically what I did was make a bracket which I affixed to the base of the stove by removing the screw that holds the burner in place. I shaped the bracket so that the igniter base was level with the bottom of the burner and then I bent the igniter wire so that it would fire at the opening where the gas comes out of the burnner.

The shaping of the bracket does have to be rather exact otherwise the stove top cover, when lowered, will close on top of and interfere with the ignitor.

Ok, thanks, that would great... The kit I have from Walmart has one really short igniter and two long ones that can be shaped as needed. It's the short one I'm wondering about.

Actually that third short ignitor in the first kit I purchased was part of my reasoning for purchasing a second kit from Walmart as I then had four long ones so I did not use either of the shorter ignitors.

Ahh! Ok, I'll give that some thought. I wasn't going to bother doing the oven ignitor, but if I have the extra pieces anyway, maybe I will. Thanks!

Dutch, I installed mine from Walmart yesterday and used the short one on the front burner and it seems to work fine, not sure of the longevity because of the short electrode, we'll see. Mounted the control on the right side of the stove front and it fit perfectly. took about 45 minutes for whole project. Great thread and great mod.:B Thanks to the OP!!!! Bill
