Fastway Flip Jack Foot

Installed my new jack foot the other day. So far, I like the idea and how it works! Because of clearance issues, I always had to remove the jack foot, but this will save a bit of time.

It's advertised to add 6 inches of travel to the tongue jack. Well, sorta. If you don't use a jack foot (Like is shown in their ads) You WILL get more travel. However, my jack foot is about 6 inches, so it's a wash.

I was a bit concerned that it could "collapse", like a knee bending, but it locks up nice and I even whacked it with a 2x4 to see if it moved. So far so good!

  • A very cool product for sure. I installed one on my last TT (since replaced with FW) & loved it! One caveat: be careful when you run it up using an electric jack. I had a Barker 3500 & used to "snug" the Flip Jack up tight to the A-frame so it wouldn't rattle. Wasn't too worried because that model of jack was supposed to have limit switches to prevent damaging the screw. Long story short - when I was at the dealer dropping the trailer off for consignment, I was distracted & flipped the switch the wrong way - trying to raise instead of lower. There was a loud bang as the screw snapped - and the whole thing just fell out of the jack tube! Somewhat embarrassing after I just bragged about the great condition the rig was in.

Next time I would look for some kind of rubber donut or spacer to slip above the Flip Jack & take up the slack without stressing the screw.
  • I used one on my power jack when I had a TT. Start the jack leg down and, presto!, instantly 6 inches closer to the ground without waiting for the jack's motor to slowly cover that distance. I loved mine and never had any problems with terrain affecting how it worked. You'll like it :C. Now if the jack legs on my 5er were only "automatic" like the Flip Foot...
  • Bought one when I had the TT but took it back when I read all of the instructions. I was hoping the holes for the OEM foot and flip foot would align but they are 90 degrees out on our Rockwood 2902SS so drilling is required. More important is the warning about using it on un-level ground. Campsites are not a problem as I level before using the tongue jack but our storage lot is not level.
