Faucets Upgrade

There was water leaking from the base of the bathroom sink faucet so I went to Lowe's yesterday and bought Peerless for that one and American Standard for the kitchen while I was at it. A great improvement, not only in looks and function, but the stock ones must have been restricting flow, because there is considerably more pressure at both sinks now.

It's going to be harder finding a quality replacement for the shower. It mounts waist high with the wand hose screwed into the bottom. Any suggestions?
  • On our shower I was able to remove the hose and showerhead and replaced it with an off the shelf unit with on/off button from Lowes. Great addition because the new hose is a foot longer.
  • cekkk, we are in the same boat. We replaced the bathroom and kitchen facets with Moen which was a big improvement over the cheap plastic stuff and now want to get a better shower fixture. I had seen one at some point that was metal but cannot find the link to it again. Maybe someone will give us a good suggestion that have done this same thing.
  • Nomad297, I was afraid of that. Well, it's probably going to stay where it is until it fails.

You're pretty much stuck with what you got here. There's not a "real" faucet that can substitute that without re-plumbing for a regular shower valve and a head in the wall.
