I'm sure you meant to say wets, sloshies, legacy or some such descriptive terms for the spillable batteries.
Both AGM and Gels are lead acid. The difference is that these are VRLA, or Valve Regulated Lead Acid. These don't need to be upright.
Now, don't confuse these with 'maintenance free' which are sloshies inside but do have the VR too keep the nasty stuff from spilling. These will not operate unless upright.
Each type has their best use classification.
P.S., I use AGMs.
