Radiant electric is the most inefficient method of heating a structure, efficiency being measured on $$$/interior temperature.
I actually have quite a bit of history with radiant electric. My Dad was one of the guys that came up with the Gold Medallion home in the '50's. He worked for GE and traveled quite a bit pushing the all-electric home. He broke it down for me when I was a youngster. Now, I've installed it for some of my customers. IIRC, most radiant systems are rated to about 100 sq. ft. and a 20 amp circuit is required.

BTW, I wouldn't test any radiant system under a carper runner. Besides melting the runner, you run the risk of abrading an element, a cause of electrical short. Also, I hope Fido doesn't like to chew on anything.

Nice shag carpet and wearing heavy socks would be much easier and cheaper solution to keeping warm..:)

In floor radiant for RV's, yeah on high-end coach bathrooms but sort of impractical for the rest of us unwashed. The most efficient would be radiant using hot water but that energy has to be produced somehow, either with propane (a boiler, water heater, etc.) or very inefficiently using electric to heat the water.
The in-floor radiant is real popular up here in the Midwest for sticks and bricks but there's no free lunch.

A friend with a beautiful new weekend house on the ocean is unhappy with his floor radiant heat. It takes all weekend for his system it to bring the house temperature up.

Check on how long your very limited floor area would take to bring the RV to temperature - if it can. Most of us expect a blast of heat when we turn on the heat. You'll probably be getting warm floors, but very little HEAT.

Here is a link for 120volt, 1200-1500 watts, looks like about 15 amps would do it.
And about $1000 worth of pad and thermostat and then to wire in a couple $$.
Looks like it wood be a good idea if your plugged in most of the time. And the times your the furnace is still there.
I have this in the S/B under tile but have fiends under wood floor, but in dry areas they need to keep a hydrater(SP) of some type going to keep the floor from drying out too much.

Thanks CamperPaul for the clarification. I saw a similar episode where they used hot water rather then electric. But I wondered if the OP was intending to use tank heaters or ???, not sure what that blanket might be. And I'm not the expert, but it seems to me the hot water solution might be better. You could make hot water with electric or propane or both, using your current water heater or a 2nd one. I think I saw a past post on that topic.

That ceramic tile reminds me of Lucy collecting rocks in the movie "The Long Long Trailer". Square rocks weigh about the same as round rocks and your brakes don't know the difference :D
