Grey water transfer pump

Has anyone installed one of these on a fifth-wheel? I have two 50 gallon grey tanks and one 50 gallon black tank. For a family of 4, we run out of capacity on the bath grey tank, but hardly use any of the galley 50 gallon or black tank.

I see threads where a transfer pump is common on a MH, but not much else. Anyone have any pics or ideas for a fiver?

  • I have a similiar setup (and problem) with slightly smaller tanks on my rig. The dealer installed a grey water flush system in our new 5er that allows me to flush the toliet with the bath grey water. It works great, no smells or clogs, and I also save an equal amount of fresh water. Now, at the "end of the day" all my waste tanks are equally full and I'm out of fresh water. That to me is a nicely balanced system.

The system is simple. An extra pump and filter are installed feeding off a tap in the grey water tank. There are also valves and check valves and a switch which allow me to flush with fresh water if I prefer.

I also have the waste valve setup described in previous posts which I can use to balance the grey water tanks.
  • Do all tanks drain thru one common drain line?

I install another drain valve on main drain line just before the sewer hose connection.
With that valve closed I can open a grey and the black to equalize the to tanks, I can open the the grey valves to equalize them.

All it cost was 2 valve flanges, another drain valve and a small can of ABS glue.
Cut the line into, glue on a flanges and bolt in new valve.
No pump needed, no power to run to pump, no added draw on battery......simple.
