Got tired of luging WD hitch from garage and back when needed. Had a welder make me up a holder that's on the tounge of the trailer, so when's its park the hitch stays there with my locking pin that I use on my truck. It seems like that thing gets heavier every time I left it....

Did the welder make it so they can be locked? I had a buddy make up something similar for my WD bars on an old trailer. I wanted to eliminate the greasy part from the bed of the truck or garage when not using them. The best part was the lock used when storming them for weeks waiting for the next time towing.

I know what you mean about getting heavier every year. I've been known to pull the pin in the truck receiver and leave the WD hitch attached to the trailer's coupler complete with the WD bars attached but not tightened. I'm not good enough to reconnect this way, but at least everything is right there.Yeah, I know the bad guys would love my shortcut, but I do keep a padlock on the coupler and lower it as low as it will go. I've never done this for long term storage.

I did just bolt it to the frame, if they want to steal it that bad let'em.

The hitch left hooked and locked to the trailer tongue is easy storage.

I hold it with one hand and latch with the other. It's easy with this tool.

Point taken. My rcvr is 2-1/2 also, but I used a sleeve for a couple years before stepping up to the class V. Then the hitch went back in the baggage compartment when parked until the FW. I kept the big shank when I sold the TT...makes a great doorstop now!

When I had a TT one of these Swagman bolt-on hitches worked well for this. Just clamped it on the A-frame far back on one side.

I always left my entire hitch hanging from the ball... Just raised tongue, released pressure on torsion arms so that the "male is loose in the female" so to speak, pulled pin on the truck receiver and drove away. reversed procedure to re-connect.. Once you get the hang of it it's not really difficult.

got tired of lifting those drn things after first time.
