Point taken. My rcvr is 2-1/2 also, but I used a sleeve for a couple years before stepping up to the class V. Then the hitch went back in the baggage compartment when parked until the FW. I kept the big shank when I sold the TT...makes a great doorstop now!

I wish I could have used something like that, my stinger is a 2 1/2.

When I had a TT one of these Swagman bolt-on hitches worked well for this. Just clamped it on the A-frame far back on one side.

I always left my entire hitch hanging from the ball... Just raised tongue, released pressure on torsion arms so that the "male is loose in the female" so to speak, pulled pin on the truck receiver and drove away. reversed procedure to re-connect.. Once you get the hang of it it's not really difficult.

got tired of lifting those drn things after first time.

The locking hitch pin is what secures it. I did just bolt it to the frame, if they want to steal it that bad let'em.

I know what you mean about getting heavier every year. I've been known to pull the pin in the truck receiver and leave the WD hitch attached to the trailer's coupler complete with the WD bars attached but not tightened.

I'm not good enough to reconnect this way, but at least everything is right there.

Yeah, I know the bad guys would love my shortcut, but I do keep a padlock on the coupler and lower it as low as it will go. I've never done this for long term storage.
