Ice Maker

We got our new portable ice maker yesterday, no more cool tea and beverages. That thing spits out the ice cubes at a good rate and only needs 115V and water. I know we will enjoy it during the summer months.
  • I can't remember what brand ours is (I bought it at Target a few Christmases ago for $99), but it spits ice out quickly, and remains frozen. The way DH and DD like to munch on ice, it was a great purchase!!

  • We have one and have really been pleased with it. Makes a lot of ice. Our new trailer has an icemaker already in the fridge but we'll still use the portable for outside purposes and such.

Ours is an Emerson we got from Target.
  • It's a common complaint of these portable units, that they don't keep ice frozen. They aren't meant to. They make ice and as the unit operates it gets colder and colder from the ice itself. If left plugged in to work they get pretty cold after a few days. No, they will never keep ice frozen.

Bag the ice and freeze it, if you have a freezer with the spare room. Otherwise, just use the damned ice. It works. :)
  • We have one and love it. There is a quick fix for those that say it waters down their drink....drink faster!
