*If* we were to replace old sofa, what to do with it?

The lawn chair solution sounds the most viable. You could get lucky and find a willing buyer enroute but, if your luck is like mine, you'd have it sitting outside to get it out of your way and encounter torrential rain.

If furniture is so dear above the 45th, why not sell it up there?
