*If* we were to replace old sofa, what to do with it?

Heading down to Ca. this summer and am dreaming about the possibility of picking up a new double recliner from shop4seats.com. Have not said anything to DW yet and is just a "thought". Am sensing I am in trouble already... :(

Our existing OEM sofa is in perfectly good condition and is a fairly nice and comfortable one and only 2 seasons old. Can they be sold on CL or elsewhere easily enough? Would we get peanuts for it or are they worth something? Not liking the idea of toting it all the way back to Canada. Have a long box in the truck so is do-able but will have lots of other stuff in it. Or maybe take the sofa out before we leave and use a couple of lawn chairs for the few days it will take to get to Ca.

  • Whats wrong with procuring the double recliner locally? THis would give the DW a chance at selecting the "correct" one.
  • The lawn chair solution sounds the most viable. You could get lucky and find a willing buyer enroute but, if your luck is like mine, you'd have it sitting outside to get it out of your way and encounter torrential rain.

If furniture is so dear above the 45th, why not sell it up there?
