Yes - hydraulic disc brakes are required. The Tuson ABS system includes the rest.

I contacted Tuson - the ABS equipment is available. It is not on their "Buy Now" feature because they want people interested in the conversion to contact them so they can discuss the scope of the conversion & expertise required prior to order.

Not the antilock version but they are starting to show up in heavy haulers for RV's.

Maybe the ABS module is not available just yet? The info for it is on their website.

The test using the trailer brakes only to stop the vehicle had some interesting numbers -

Electric drum brakes - DirecLink controller 259ft less vs Prodigy

ABS/hydraulic disc - both tests using DirecLink controller - 662ft less than electric drum brakes.

Interesting concept, but I'm having a bit of trouble understanding how it works. Article claims each braked trailer wheel is actuated/controlled separately- made me think we're talking about a whole new braking system.

But looking at the product page at this link all I see are brake controllers, so evidently this is supposed to work on any ordinary trailer brakes. Just how that translates into "ABS" on the trailer is a puzzle to me-?
