Interior door

I was wondering if anyone could help point me in the right direction to locate an interior door for my Keystone Montana 3850FL. The door is an 1' 1/4" and I spoke to the distributor that Keystone gave me but they want $500 in fright before I even purchase the door. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to locate a door or have an idea of how I can go about putting something in. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

  • you can use a standard interior house door. cutting down the door may require gluing a strip of wood back in on the cut edge(s)

if its a panelled door(hollowcore Masonite type) cut the edges such that the "panels" stay centred.

done it lots for houses with odd door openings
  • I just got thru building one of my own, finished it yesterday. As stated by WRA I went to Lowes and purchased white wood 1 1/2" lumber and paneling, glue, hinges etc. Came out nice and looks factory made. cost less than 40.00 and took and afternoon. This might be the answer or as stated above, just go and order one from Lowes or Home Depot, you might also check with a local mobile home surplus parts store.
  • Same here just went to Lowes and bought one with the right measurements. Or close to that, I had to trim 1/2" from the bottom. Works great. You can order one with the exact measurements that you need. Be warned that you can only trim a little from the door since the only solid wood is at the edges on these flat panel doors.
  • I came across the same problem. I went to Home Depot and bought the material and made my own. Mine came out better than the original. Just bought some 2X2's, luan, glue, stain, and decorative corner metal. It was easy to do with basic tools. I used the hinges and latches from the original door. It cost less than $25.
  • Be nice to see a picture.
You could try a salvage place such as Visione RV, Colaws RV and Arizona Salvage
