I don't chassis ground my battery neg, but I guess that's ok. Maybe the coach came that way and I just don't know it.
The Magnum I've selected does not have its own breakers. The twin panels are recommended by Magnum, to provide additional safety on the input to the inverter I suppose? Originally I planned to just wire my shore power cable into the inverter, since there's a breaker at the other end already, but then I got to thinking, can I trust that rv park breaker - some of them are really in bad shape. The extra panel also gives me space to move some circuits off the inverter, in case I should have trouble down the road.
The on/off switch I guess isn't strictly needed. The Magnum provides a "soft" or electronic on/off switch, but the instructions want you to open the fuse any time you work on the unit. I'd rather just turn the marine disconnect instead.
