I planned it as I went along. Asked for a dump tank for Christmas while I was looking for the washer. Then realized I needed a tray underneath to protect the closet and anchor the machine. Having the closet right next to the kitchen sink made all the connections easier. I think I lucked out finding the exact machine I needed.
