  • I think you are still looking at the wrong side of the fixture. The picture you are showing is the top portion of the light, the part that pushes up into the cabinet or ceiling. If your lights look like This the lower portion will have a glass cover that will twist off exposing the bulb.
  • I tried to take the bulb out after understanding that its not a single unit. There were two screws that held the back of the bulb in place however after unscrewing them the bulb would just not pull out.

thanks for the reply. how do these stay in the fixture? the factory ones have the spring clips which hold them in place.

I think you are referring to the springs that hold the entire fixture in the ceiling. If your puck lights use the G4 halogen bulbs these are a direct replacement and just plug into the same socket. If you turn the glass cover on the fixture it comes off and you can remove the bulb try removing one of your bulbs, just don't touch it with your hands as the oil from your skin will make the bulb burn out quickly. If your bulb is not flat with two pins like THIS post a picture here for us to see what it is. Some puck fixtures have a vertical rather than a horizontal mount.
  • We also replaced only the bulbs in many of our puck lights. They are a slightly different style with glass, no plastic surround. Big difference, no heat generated anymore. Those that didn't get replaced aren't used much and saved us in cost.

We used other sources than Ebay. So shop around.
  • use the LED bulbs....the 12 led 5050 are equal to the 10 watt halogen and the 18 led 5050 equal to the 20 watt bulbs and no heat.
  • I replaced the G4 bulb with THESE. Pins held the lights in place. Have you tried to remove the bulbs in your fixtures?

  • I replaced just the bulbs in mine with These The only problem I had is that they are polarity dependant so on some of my fixtures I had to reverse the wiring. The connecting pins were a little too long so I had to shorten them but a very easy swap. I ordered mine in warm white.
