LED strip on awning roller didn't last 4 months

How well have your LED awning lights held up? For those that have them installed on the awning roller tube. I installed some in April, stuck them to the tube so they were under the flap that hangs off...

We have clear lights on the inside of the awning flap in a slit that runs down the inside of the roller meant for the lights. We have had ours for a couple of years now and we leave them in place all the time. We unplug them and roll them up along with the awning. We do have the awning metal covers though so they stay dry when rolled up.
