LED strip on awning roller didn't last 4 months

How well have your LED awning lights held up? For those that have them installed on the awning roller tube. I installed some in April, stuck them to the tube so they were under the flap that hangs off...

Just thought I'd chime in that we have the multi-colored 5mm LED version that's been fine for 6 months and they're working beautifully. Mounted under the awning rail with auto trim tape (didn't trust the built-in adhesive). We do live in a desert environment, maybe that helps?
