LED strip on awning roller didn't last 4 months

I installed some of these lights recently. The LED strips seem well constructed, but the power connectors are really flimsy. I suspect the connector is the problem when people are reporting the loss of one or two colors. I think soldering or crimping better connectors on to the lines may cure the problems.
