LED strip on awning roller didn't last 4 months

Ive purchased another 16m roll of colored leds. They are a different brand than last set. I really like the look and no glare while installed on awning roller. I think Im going to try it on roller one more time. If they will last a year Ill keep doing it.

I got 16m roll of white to run down the gunwales of my boat. Cut the roll in half to light both sides. They have been working great for 2 1/2 years. I dont know if white instead of multicolor makes a difference or not.
