Light fixtures.

I would like to put updated fixtures in our 2011 trailer. It has been impossible to find anything in any RV catalogues my hubby and I have.

Question....can I buy a regular house fixture and rewire it? If so, how would I, better rephrase that...how would hubby, LOL go about doing this?

The one fixture that "has" to be changed, is the one that sits under the cabinets over the dinette. I would like something, anything, to replace the standard white plastic light.

  • Try Ebay.

Has been a good source of decorative 12 volt light fixtures for me in the past.
  • Sure, it can be done. If you can find halogen light fixtures you like, the bulbs are easily replaced with a variety of LED replacements.

FWIW, I made my own fixtures to replace the old and brittle RV fixtures that were in my TT. I used a Dollar Store decorative card frame and either 36-1210 SMD or 48-1210 SMD panels in warm white.

  • Sure why not. You have 110 volt and 12 volt there now.
So depending what is in that location and 110/12 volts . You can buy 110 volt lights and put 12 volt bulbs in on some fixture's.
