In the photograph of the receiver, the black wire that goes from right to left and enters both ends is a jumper from the hot input to the mover of the relay.
My common for the light strip is a chassis ground I made by drilling a hole in the frame around the step.
The wires on the right go to an after market fuse panel and will have a 2 amp fuse as soon as I buy a pack of them. I have a bunch of 2 amp 120 vac power supplies and will use the others on S&B projects.
