I did exactly what you did - tv on the cabinet door. However, I did use two gas struts to hold the door open (when open) and shut (when shut). The struts I used were acquired here: 45# struts
These were held to the door with these brackets:Brackets for the door
The struts were attached to the cabinet side with these brackets: Brackets for the side of the cabinet
The hinge I used was this one: Continuous hinge
I used a hacksaw to trim the 30" hinge to the 28" of the opening. This worked well.
So far this is working well.
