We have had "peel & stick" 12" squares in our home kitchen for over 18yrs!! None have lifted, nor torn, or cracked. Not new anymore, but still look pretty good. They are installed on 1/4" plywood subfloor (not unlike your trailer floor), which was treated with a primer designed for adhesive flooring. I'm sure that you can find that still, esp now with what seems like a resurgence of "sticky" tiles.
