We were just really surprised that anyone spending the big $ that the units cost with tile floors would not demand floor heat under tile. Anyone in a cool to cold climate would certainly have floor heat under tile in an equally priced new sticks and bricks.
We just assumed it was there. It is certainly on DW's must have list.
If I am going to spend all the money to haul that heavy, pretty tile up and down the road I am not going to cover it with carpets so my feet are not cold. :)
Demand what you may - but we found very few manufacturers that did heat the floors. Those that did argued why other other system was trouble, and those that didn't argued that they all are trouble in a moving coach, be it water tubes or electric grids. I know, it's all sales hype. With a heated basement, it's really not that bad. If it was installed, I would use it, but it wasn't a "must have" when we shopped because it really limited the manufacturers.
We opted not to do it in our sticks and bricks, because it would have required two dedicated 20A circuits and I didn't want to surrender that. Haven't given it a second thought, and I live in Colorado. I guess you don't miss what you didn't have to begin with as someone stated.
