If you do the proper prep and use the appropriate subfloor/primer, then they should hold up. If you just want to pull up the old floor and lay down the tiles, they will not hold up.
All depends on where you want to do the bulk of the work:
Prepping - do tiles;
Laying - do laminate/vinyl planking
