4x4,
"So with the slide completely extended in the out position you then tiled to just under the edge where it couldnt be seen?"
Correct. My old style slide sits high enough that the quarter round now covers the edge of the tile and the rollers. As my slide starts to come in the leading edge tips up. As it continues in it levels out as the rollers are at mid point. As it passes mid point the leading edge tips down until the top flange contacts and then kicks up as it bottoms against the outside wall. As this is happening it clears the piece of quarter round that is covering the rollers. It's just a little lower than the rollers.
There is no smell from the tile. They have all stayed in place pretty well. I have a couple spots off to one corner that may have a slightly wider gap. Maybe I was a little sloppy? I looked at the often used planks but didn't like the way they fastened together. I would never attempt to use the stick together planks. The snap together didn't impress me either but they are often used and liked. I hate the feel of the floating floor stuff. It just seems strange or cheap. Just a personal preference. I especially like the fact that with the peel and stick if I damage one I can easily replace it even if I use an additional adhesive. Pretty user friendly compared to something that interlocks. Just like damaging a ceramic tile, smash the bad one and whittle it out and grout a new one in. Easy.
I would also say that I never have or intend to expose mine to extreme cold. Like many other rv issues it's not a one size fits all. There are different issues for different people and temperature extremes. I also noticed somewhere in my web travels that someone mentioned a tile installer recommending the use of an additional adhesive while installing P&S tiles. As I mentioned, I used goop in certain areas only because it's such a good adhesive. I'm sure there are any other number of adhesives that could be used.
I think these P&S would look great with the grout joints but I would absolutely use a flexible silicone type grout. I didn't want to take the risk of having issues with it so I stuck with the option of no joints.
So again, it's sometimes wide open as to the results we each achieve with different rv issues so you pick your option and see what happens. I have no idea how a flush type slide will work and have heard of people having the new flooring scratched
