Perhaps you'll be kind enough to clarify as I suspect you didn't rotate the HEAD 90 degrees but the entire tongue jack by drilling additional holes in the TJ mounting plate - correct? ;) If so, it's the same solution offered by some tongue jacks these days, including my own UltraFab 3502.
FWIW, the earlier version of this tongue jack sold a few years ago
did have a head that could be rotated 90 or even 180 degrees simply by removing the four head bolts, turning the headat, and reinserting the four bolts.
That's no longer possible with the current design, ergo the reason for multiple holes in the base plate so the entire TJ can be rotated.
