"Rabbit ear" wing nuts for battery posts: odd, but it works

I'm 70 and the hands are weak, also retired and have a bit of time on my hands. My solution is a wooden rod, broom stick size or larger with a slot cut in the end. Can be kept by the battery, no danger of shorting something out when using, cheap. What more could I want? Might be able to use a piece of PVC pipe also??
