Nice but why didn't you use ABS?

I've never understood why they plumb some trailers with separate dump ports when all it takes is a little pipe and a few fittings to do it right!

Would those that design RVs with two dump ports be NON-RVers, Scott? As in never dumped a tank in their life?

X2 to why PVC and not ABS?

Is it the angle of the picture or does the turn at the two 45’s go up hill?

I am sure the reason for not doing at the factory is cost!

Some places have discontinued carrying ABS. Lowe's and home Depot here discontinued it. I bought some of the last few pieces they had on clearance at a Lowe's here for a future project I am planning to go along with some excess ABS spares I had left over for my 28 ft TT. I can get more than if needed through a plumbing supplier or a trailer dealer, but it's gonna cost more.

Not an illusion. Only reason to use 2 45's is to raise that pipe higher, otherwise 1 90 would be used. Looks like there would have been enough room for a 90.

Great idea! I trust that is transition cement between the ABS & PVC? Been thinking of doing similar. We have one outlet at the rear for the kitchen and the other is under one end of the slide ahead of the axles and is hard to reach with the slide out. Very annoying! Problem will be getting adequate slope and getting over the axles but am planning to take down the underbelly material which might help a lot.

ABS is readily available in Canada as it's required by code inside buildings. Should be available at plumbing wholesalers in the US? Of course you could always go to an RV dealer and pay 10 times more for it. Had trouble finding some basic PEX fittings at retail stores in the US last summer.

Why do the factories do this stuff? Pffft...

Local plumbing shop only carry's PVC and they told me the sizes are the same. (My question; then why ABS & PVC?) I used two 45's to allow for any miss alignment. The pictures deceiving as it runs down hill to the front with a bend to the right. The plumbings shop told me the cement for PVC-ABS is different so I bought a can, sea foam green?.
If I would do this again I would use the long sweeping 45s for a gentler bend, nor sure it would make a difference.

Personally I would have paid and extra hundred or so to have this done at the factory. The adapters used to get the rear 1.5" up to 3" for the dump connection & cap cost has to cost close to the same. I did have to make hangers but I had the strapping in my shop.

What you did is OK however I would have used a mechanical coupling on "no hub" coupling to transition from ABS to PVC. I never trust the various transition glues, the joints all seem to eventually loosen and leak. The mechanical joint will not fail. Rolling up the 45º to create more fall isn't quite kosher either, but in your RV application I guess it maybe OK.
Rolling the pipe creates a trapped section of pipe that will always hold water and potentially collect debris and create a clog.
In your RV application you maybe able to get away with it because the RV is moving enough that holding water may not matter.
I like the idea, hopefully it works out for you.
