I just mounted it through one of the screws used to hold the AC outlet cover on. That way, most of the thermal contact surface was exposed to air, not material. When the air temp behind the vent gets to 80*F, the switch closes and the fan turns on. When the air temp drops to 65*F or lower, the switch opens and the fan turns off. I run it through a regular wall type switch for main control and can turn on or off the circuit when needed. That way the fans don't run when I'm not using the fridge but it's still warm out.
