  • I'd suggest you perform a pressurized leak test. Sealtech is one business that does these or it can be done DIY with a blower.

There shouldn't be any thing severely hard about restoring the duct work, especially only the vent cover and connecting tin. If the plastic or foil duct is still intact, it may be possible to fish it out towards opening.

I will look at it closer next time out there, just scared what I might find, but it isn't a large enough space for a body.
  • well, the tin that is directly under the vent is paper thin and falling apart. I just bought this for dirt cheap as it is filthy. 1997 262 eagle. need to replace back bedroom floor and a wall in the bedroom. Husband looked at roof and thinks it is pretty good shape. Have been learning lots reading all the threads. Back to the duct work... I cleaned one out of all the dog hair and that's when I noticed the tin deteriorating in my hands. below it was the pink insulation. I didn't mess with it.

  • I have never heard of duct work "deteriorating".
How old is the Jayco? Is the duct work metal??
Do you have any ideal what made it deteriorate?

The vents can be covered with a vent cover material from Wal-Mart.
To replace the duct work is doable. Would be a pretty good job. It would have to be replaced from underneath.
