Removable shore power cord inlet

I did that when I had my TT. Originally the cord got stuffed into a hold and was stored under the couch, making it a detachable cord gave me enough space to build a nice drawer under the couch instead. Inside storage was much in need on that TT, and I towed with a full size van so tow vehicle space for the cord was plentiful. One of the best mods I did.

Bonus was when in non-air conditioning usage, I could use a simple adapter to extension cord and not have to lug the heavy shore cable out.

My 2014 Solera had a fixed power cord. Big hatch with plenty of space to wad it up and stuff it in. Its cheaper to hard wire it, so I bet there are still plenty that do it.

Yup, using a standard TT power inlet you can get all kinds of adapters to plug in to an extension cable.

My FnR had a bigger hole with a door (versus the small round hole in the clipper). It still wasn't enough. The cord would get stuck every time on one corner and I'd spend 10 minutes working to pull it out. I now use that small space for the adapters.

With the clipper, I sometimes take it to work. Now, I can just unplug at the RV end, drop the cord and drive away. Before I would have to leave 10-15 minutes earlier just to deal with the cord.

Back in July, I switched to a SmartPlug and have been happy with it:
