REMOVING FURNACE VENT COVER

Slightly different question but deals with the furnace vent cover. Mine has the six screws holding it down and there appear to be two rivets nearer to the top.

My question is ... HOW DO I REMOVE THIS VENT COVER TO MAKE MINOR REPAIRS TO THE RUST DEVELOPING AROUND THE COVER?

After removing the six screws the cover still will not come off and seems to be stuck where the rivets are. After looking on line I not that there are vent tubes/hoses secured to the cover with these rivets.

Is it just a case of a little friendly persuasion by slightly twisting and turning the vent cover to remove it from the side of the RV. Needless to say I don't want to do any damage, but need to get at those rusted areas on the painted surface of the RV.

Thanks for the tip Chris ... now all I need is some decent weather to get out there. It has been bitterly cold this past week and just today getting milder ... but rain. :(

I have to wonder if spring is ever coming this year.

Great, thanks Chris ... I just didn't want to start prying and pulling and twisting until I knew for sure. I'm very disappointed to see the rust on the painted surface on a new vehicle but I use it all year and with the furnace running in the winter I gather that the tube/hose does rust and gets on the painted surface.

    Thanks
