Replacement of expensive under sink water filter
I have this metal water filter that clogs up about every 3 months and costs $38.00 to replace. I wanted go to home depot and plumb in a less expensive option. Anyone done this, and if yes how ?

If it's the 1/2 micron/activated carbon filter I'm thinking of... they are expensive and really good. I've used fairly inexpensive 1 micron particulate filters ahead of the expensive filters for decades with great success. IMO, any water filter over 1 micron is a waste of time... that's been my experience in a career of plant maintenance. Craig
