Replacing sofa

We have an fold-out air mattress sofa bed. The air mattress never stayed up and we don't use or need to use that sofa as a bed. The sofa is not really comfortable and the fake leather looks awful! I would really love to replace the sofa with a new one. Is it possible to replace a motorhome sofa with one from a regular furniture store? I know the seatbelts are mounted in the floor. If I could find a sofa that we can attach to the floor and a way to run the seatbelts through, would it work? Has anyone done this before?

  • Sometimes the space under/inside an RV sofa is used for other things. In my motorhome, the couch sits on a storage compartment accessible from the outside; a normal sofa would at the least need some rather significant modifications to work. Occasionally there are things besides storage there, like RV systems (furnace or water heater or whatever).

If it's basically just sitting on the floor, there's no inherent reason why any sofa couldn't equally well sit on the floor instead assuming you can get it in place.
  • RV sofa mst likely comes apart in order to get it inside (back comes off etc)
so new sofa would need to do same.

Otherwise it was installed prior to windshield being in place.

Need to measure ........then measure again.

If you can get it inside it can be used.
